The Torjir-Agber Foundation is governed by a Board of Trustees entrusted with safeguarding the Foundation's mission, values, resources and long-term sustainability. Drawing upon experience across faith leadership, law, education, public service, international development, enterprise and community engagement, the Trustees provide strategic oversight and help ensure that the Foundation remains accountable, responsibly governed and faithful to its commitment to human dignity, compassionate service and lasting impact. The Foundation is currently completing a post-incorporation update of its Trustee records with Nigeria's Corporate Affairs Commission. The profiles presented here reflect the Trustees currently serving the Foundation. The website and statutory information will be updated as appropriate upon completion of the regulatory process.

Members of the Board of Trustees

 Rev. Fr. Daniel Msugh Agber is a Catholic priest, author, educator and humanitarian whose ministry spans Nigeria and the United Kingdom. His life and vocation have been shaped by faith, resilience, gratitude and a sustained commitment to education, pastoral service and human development. He founded the Torjir-Agber Foundation as an enduring expression of gratitude for the opportunities and kindness he received throughout his own journey, seeking to ensure that others—particularly children, families and vulnerable communities—might encounter similar opportunities for dignity, hope and flourishing.

Areas of contribution: Founding vision, faith leadership, education, community development and institutional legacy.

Rev. Fr. Daniel Msugh Agber
Founder & Trustee

Dr Martín Luis Burt Artaza is an internationally recognised social entrepreneur and development practitioner whose career has focused on poverty reduction, entrepreneurship, education and innovative approaches to sustainable human development. He is the Founder and Executive Director of Fundación Paraguaya and is internationally associated with the development of the Poverty Stoplight methodology, an approach designed to help families understand and overcome multidimensional poverty. His professional experience also includes public service and municipal leadership in Paraguay. Dr Burt brings to the Torjir-Agber Foundation substantial experience in social innovation, development strategy, poverty reduction and the creation of sustainable solutions that enable individuals and communities to become active participants in their own transformation.

Areas of contribution: International development, social entrepreneurship, poverty reduction, innovation and global partnerships.

Caterina Montalto
Trustee

Caterina Montalto serves as a Trustee of the Torjir-Agber Foundation and contributes to the Foundation's international outlook and commitment to responsible governance, compassionate service and enduring partnership. Her participation reflects TAF's conviction that sustainable human development is strengthened when people from different backgrounds and experiences work together around shared values of dignity, integrity and service. Robert Christopher Watson Jr.
Trustee

Robert Christopher Watson Jr. serves as a Trustee of the Torjir-Agber Foundation, supporting the Board in its collective responsibility for the Foundation's mission, governance and long-term development. His participation contributes to TAF's international perspective and its commitment to building relationships founded upon integrity, shared responsibility and sustainable service. Gabriel Ibu Esqr
Trustee

Gabriel Ibu is a legal practitioner whose professional background brings valuable legal and governance perspective to the Torjir-Agber Foundation. As a Trustee, he contributes to the Foundation's commitment to responsible governance, regulatory awareness, institutional accountability and the protection of its long-term charitable interests. His role supports the Board's responsibility to ensure that the Foundation conducts its affairs with integrity, appropriate oversight and respect for the legal and ethical principles that underpin sound charitable governance.

Margaret Aul-Mku
Trustee

Margaret Aul-Mku is an entrepreneur whose experience in enterprise and community-based economic activity contributes a practical perspective to the governance of the Torjir-Agber Foundation. Her involvement strengthens the Board's understanding of local enterprise, organisational sustainability and the importance of creating opportunities that enable individuals and communities to become increasingly resilient and self-reliant. As a Trustee, she supports the Foundation's commitment to responsible stewardship, sustainable development and practical service to communities.

Cecil Shom Verse
Trustee

Cecil Shom Verse serves as a Trustee of the Torjir-Agber Foundation and contributes to the stewardship of its mission and its commitment to integrity, compassion and sustainable community development. As part of the Board, he shares collective responsibility for protecting the Foundation's values, strengthening accountability and helping ensure that TAF's work remains responsive to the needs of the communities it exists to serve. Hon. Justice Moses Abu Bello, OFR, FICMC
Former Trustee - In Memoriam

The late Hon. Justice Moses Abu Bello was a distinguished Nigerian jurist and the pioneer President of the Customary Court of Appeal of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. He provided many years of judicial and public-service leadership and was widely respected for his contribution to the administration of justice, customary jurisprudence, mediation and institutional integrity. Justice Bello also demonstrated a strong concern for education and human development, values that resonated deeply with the mission of the Torjir-Agber Foundation. TAF remembers with gratitude his service as a Trustee and honours the wisdom, integrity and public-spirited leadership he brought to the Foundation.

Legacy contribution: Justice, governance, mediation, public service and institutional integrity.

Our Governance Commitment

The Trustees serve collectively as custodians of the Torjir-Agber Foundation's mission. Their responsibilities include safeguarding the Foundation's charitable purpose, overseeing strategy and financial stewardship, promoting accountability, protecting the Foundation's reputation and ensuring that its work remains faithful to the values upon which it was established. Trusteeship within TAF is understood not primarily as status, but as stewardship—a responsibility to serve the mission faithfully today while protecting it for generations yet unborn.

REGISTRATION STATUS

TORJIR-AGBER FOUNDATION is presently pursuing registration with the relevant charity authorities in the United Kingdom. When registration is completed, this page will be updated with the approved legal name, registration number, governing structure, and details of the responsible UK trustees. Until formal approval is received, TAF's UK status is described only as "registration in progress."
